Of all the company visits and people we met this week, my favorite person has definitely been Carlos from Farmacias Ahumada. Carlos is the Head of Security at FA, and by the looks of it he is doing a fantastic job. I felt very safe and secure during my entire trip to FA, and I wouldn't be surprised if Carlos went ahead and put in the extra leg work to ensure our entire trip has his quality and safety stamp of approval on it.
I spent some time trying to learn more about Carlos through various Google and LinkedIn searches but came up empty. Carlos must spend most of his time off the grid, and to me that sounds like a smart move for the head of security. If I had to compare Carlos to any one person, I would say he most reminds me of a Chilean Liam Neeson. I am pretty sure if I get into any trouble during my last 5 days in Chile, Carlos will be my emergency contact.
Carlos was a man of few words but he put on a great tour for our class. We were able to see the "A-frame" machine in action thanks to his connections. Carlos was able to really show us the size and scale of the operations at FA and for me that was really helpful to put it in perspective.

I really enjoyed our trip to FA and will make sure to stop in one of their stores before leaving Chile. My lasting impression will be how impressive it is for an operation like this to execute from one location across the entire length of Chile. That is truly an impressive feat. Thank you Carlos and everyone at FA!!
